Conceal/Reveal Exhibition
Conceal/Reveal: A Touring Exhibition Series by Louth Craftmark Artists & Designers Network
“Conceal/Reveal,” is a series of exhibitions by Louth Craftmark Designers Network that delve into the interplay between the hidden and the visible. Showcasing the talents of artists and designers from County Louth and the northeast of Ireland, these exhibitions will be held across three venues over the summer months, each offering a different perspective on the overarching theme. With an eclectic mix of disciplines including painting, ceramics, textiles, glass, and sculpture, this three-venue tour invites audiences to engage with thought-provoking contemporary art craft and design. The exhibition launch will take place in the beautiful light-filled gallery at The Market Place Theatre, at 7pm, all welcome. I am proud to include my painting ‘Ardent Light’ in such great company.

One of my main goals was to pick up new printing skills. I was able to spend a good deal of time in the print department trying out different techniques from cyanotype to different screen printing processes. I learned that experimenting with different tools and methods can open up exciting opportunities in my artwork. I loved how the different process outcomes sat side by side, allowing a flow throughout my work for the Artist-in-Residence exhibition. The exhibition ‘Reside’ launched at ‘The Basement Gallery – An Táin Arts Centre’ Dundalk in October 2024 and ran for six weeks. During that time I hosted an artist talk and got to chat to visitors and students about my art.
Looking back on my residency, I can say that my time at Creative Spark had a lasting impression on my art practice. Observing the River Glyde, swimming at Salterstown, and embracing new printmaking techniques all helped me see my home environment with fresh eyes. It reminded me how important it is to stay curious, keep learning, and allow my work to evolve in new ways. I finished up with a renewed sense of purpose, excited to carry these ideas into whatever I create next.
