New work by Caoimhe O’Dwyer
This collection sets out a series of natural phenomena which have arranged themselves in a loose order, according to their perpetually shifting influence on the artist’s life and process. This is a readily accessible first collection: paintings in watercolour and in oil, inspired by botanicals and flowers, by the sea, or by the turning of the seasons in the artist’s cider apple orchard, yet its accessibility belies a visual acuity and the articulation of a singular perception, casting a fresh eye on established artistic themes.
Art and painting are woven into the weft and warp of Caoimhe’s everyday life and work. Little sparks of inspiration and imagination set seed in the habitual and the quotidian, some shoots are tended conscientiously, some are neglected, but the strongest thrive and have grown into these deft and beautiful works of art.
